The countdown is on! The launch of Time Bandits (1981) is just two and a half weeks away! ◀︎◀︎ Follow that link! Sunday, January 3rd around 4pm Montreal/New York time I’ll be pushing that big, red button! In the meantime, even though many artists have posted samples of their sketches (and keep it up! Everywhere! 🙂 ), I’ll post some every day (or ALMOST every day) until the launch.

I’ll go ALPHABETICALLY for the scans that I have – there are a few that haven’t arrived yet. My own are also done (shocker!) and please forgive me for going out of order here and sharing them in this post too.

Historical and Heroic Dogs , the Kickstarter campaign, has ended successfully!!! I’m so, so happy to have this project fund and to be able to have it available for those who are into dogs. As someone who is now owned by two sausage dogs (and loves cats, and used to be a horse person), this is truly a passion project.

What happens now?

Good question! All the cards are already designed and printed. They are now on their circuitous way here! It will take about a week and a half for that. Once here, I’ll collate (and cut what needs cutting) and prep the sets. The autograph have been here for a couple of months already, nothing to wait for that. All they need are the COA stickers on the backs – you’ll see a photo of the human who autographed the cards for Quasi the Great, and for Crusoe the Celebrity Dachshund.

There ARE a few things to wait for, such as the lenticular “Poker” card, and a few more artist sketch cards. They are slowly arriving and look GREAT!! I’ll be sharing a few previews of those. There are indeed DIY blank sketch cards, so if you want to here any artist at all (or yourself) to do a dog sketch, you can commission the artist of your dreams to create a masterpiece to treasure!

The lenticular might arrive only in early October. Hopefully earlier, but shipping is what it is, there is nothing to do about that.

Once again, THANK YOU! If you missed out on the campaign – or know someone who did – reach out to me and I can get you what you need! The autographs of Crusoe are completely sold out, but there are a few of Quasi left. Not many though, so do get a master set level that includes one while you can. Historical and Heroic Dogs would make a wonderful gift for a dog lover this December.

Extra Master sets (with sketch cards) will be available in my store, or just contact me, in December.

I’m sooooo excited about this set! The base cards were so much fun to organize and then paint. Leg Day Cards has created series 5 of Kitty Eerie for this set, and that cat is totally getting into it.

PiP Episode 90 – Gary Gerani

Gary Gerani is a professional screenwriter/non-fiction writer and film historian. He is best known for creating and co-authoring the screenplay for Stan Winston’s Pumpkinhead, a cult horror film that has spawned three sequels and a planned reboot. Gerani also scripted Showtime’s adaptation of the popular Vampirella comic book in 1996, and created/produced a TV pilot in 2017 called Convention. He also has 35 years experience creating and developing countless products for the youth market. He worked on staff at Topps for three decades, before providing similar services for Upper Deck, Rittenhouse Archives, and various related companies. Other creations include a series of trade paperbacks about the film industry beginning with the groundbreaking Fantastic Television in 1977, several graphic novels, and a new, feature-length documentary scheduled for release in 2020. Gerani has won a number of awards over the years, including honors from the Society of Illustrators, the Academy of Science Fiction and Horror Films, and various other organizations.

UFO: Legend and Lore Previews

Hopefully 2024 is treating you right, and things well and easy for you. This update had been planned for January 1st, but obviously that didn’t happen. Now, however, there are a few images to share with you, and I’m crossing my fingers that you will be as excited about this set as I am! The Kickstarter pre-launch page is under construction and I’ll share the link to that in a few weeks, as the actual launch date is not for a while yet. Artists have been sending scans of their work and they are gorgeous!! Lindsey is working on her base cards, and not only are they stunning, but they continue the adventures of Kitty Eerie – Aliens!
Below are a couple of my acrylic base cards, and on the back of each card is the story of the image on the front… Roswell Incident (A2) and Rendlesham Forest Incident (A3), Nimitz Encounter (A8) and the front of the Relic card.

And don’t forget that ONLY included with the Kickstarter packages is the chance to get the metal card – a custom-printed FBA card with your photo (or someone you’d like aliens to abduct). Should you decide to get more than one set at the level the metal card will be available on, then remember you CAN have different photos on these metal cards!

Dragons Special Venue!

Beginning Monday August 7th and ending August 14th (for SEVEN DAYS ONLY) there will be a Special Venue for Dragons’ Kickstarter backers only. Kickstarter backers get special prices, first picks, all that good stuff.

After that, leftovers will be made public! They’ll be available directly through me, or through Messenger, email, and probably Etsy, while I get the store set up here.
