The countdown is on! The launch of Time Bandits (1981) is just two and a half weeks away! ◀︎◀︎ Follow that link! Sunday, January 3rd around 4pm Montreal/New York time I’ll be pushing that big, red button! In the meantime, even though many artists have posted samples of their sketches (and keep it up! Everywhere! 🙂 ), I’ll post some every day (or ALMOST every day) until the launch.

UFO 2: Alien Archives is LIVE!

Introduction

As a long-time fan of all things mysterious, conspiracy-related, and otherwise “unknown”, UFO series 1 and 2 are just so much fun to create. Personally, I read, watch, and think about all that conspiracy stuff with a light mind, and just enjoy it. Is it real? Is there truth to any of it? Maybe, maybe not… THAT’S what makes it fun! Breaking it down and considering all sides.

UFO 2: Alien Archives takes a look at some of the obelisks, glyphs, and forbidden tech that may or may not have been left behind alien visitors with three 9-card subsets. Then there is the subset “Alien Interpretation” which gives you an artistic view of aliens from some of the best artists/sketch card artists out there. Then there is a 9 card puzzle by John “Smitty” Smith! This puzzle has also been incorporated into a 5×7 flyer. But more on that below.

The Packaging is a tuck box. For the Master sets they will probably be shipped in two boxes. And remember, you get a FREE pair of 3D glasses!

UFO 2: Alien Archives Update! The PRE-LAUNCH page for UFO 2: Alien Archives is now active. This is a continuation on series 1, with a 45 card base set of cards glancing at the mysteries of artifacts, obelisks, writings and more. A 9 card subset called Alien Interpretations featuring art from outstanding artists!

Speaking of which, there are sketch cards of course, AND a real metal autograph card from Robert Clotworthy! May 16th Update…

Two trading card sets are now underway! First, UFO series 2 is in production with the base cards near the halfway point of completion. Sketch cards have been received by the artists, and are underway. Previews of the art will be shown as the cards arrive, both here and in the Facebook group: Long Dog Cards. The campaign is tentatively scheduled for the end of June/July.

The brand NEW project – to be revealed – is signed and officially begun! Sketch cards are being printed and will be sent to artists over the next two or so weeks. The first promo card is also being printed and the NSU variant will be included in an upcoming Non Sport Update magazine! The “regular” promo will be available soon.

Paintings for Sale

Wanting to slowly re-do my office-studio, using what I have. But, that means clearing and cleaning! These paintings below were put aside back in 2014 to 2016 (ten… ten years ago 😲) These are all larger paintings. Horses, Matt Belamy from Muse, Hiroyuki Sanada in his Helix role (loved that show, mostly), Witch for Perna Studios, and a gargoyle dragon for Halloween.

These are all for sale. They are all 9×12 inches, acrylic paint on canvas board, horses paint is on mounted canvas. $200 each, except for the horses – $175 (shipping will be individualized, and I’ll be using ChitChats as they are NOT on strike.) Historical and Heroic Dogs , the Kickstarter campaign, has ended successfully!!! I’m so, so happy to have this project fund and to be able to have it available for those who are into dogs. As someone who is now owned by two sausage dogs (and loves cats, and used to be a horse person), this is truly a passion project.

What happens now?

Good question! All the cards are already designed and printed. They are now on their circuitous way here! It will take about a week and a half for that. Once here, I’ll collate (and cut what needs cutting) and prep the sets. The autograph have been here for a couple of months already, nothing to wait for that. All they need are the COA stickers on the backs – you’ll see a photo of the human who autographed the cards for Quasi the Great, and for Crusoe the Celebrity Dachshund.

There ARE a few things to wait for, such as the lenticular “Poker” card, and a few more artist sketch cards. They are slowly arriving and look GREAT!! I’ll be sharing a few previews of those. There are indeed DIY blank sketch cards, so if you want to here any artist at all (or yourself) to do a dog sketch, you can commission the artist of your dreams to create a masterpiece to treasure!

The lenticular might arrive only in early October. Hopefully earlier, but shipping is what it is, there is nothing to do about that.

Once again, THANK YOU! If you missed out on the campaign – or know someone who did – reach out to me and I can get you what you need! The autographs of Crusoe are completely sold out, but there are a few of Quasi left. Not many though, so do get a master set level that includes one while you can. Historical and Heroic Dogs would make a wonderful gift for a dog lover this December.

Long Dog Project Update

Not been showing much as I’ve been busy plotting, planning, sketching, counting, calculating, mind-changing, quitting, re-starting… 😂

I’m a teensy bit late (waaay late) with commissions. They are ALL, however, underway. A few small and mid-size paintings are also in the sketched stage, and I can’t wait to show those! A couple are for upcoming projects. Speaking of projects, here is what’s happening:

Historic and Heroic Dogs series 1 – this is a small set, a pet project (i’m hysterical) that is being done for the fun of it and because… dogs. Need I say more? ❤️ The cards are ready to go to print, the autograph cards are here (two well known dog pawrent influencers), and there WILL be sketch cards with these! This set will be in PRE-LAUNCH phase probably this week (and you’ll see the metal autograph cards).

Dragons series 2 – Most base cards are complete (most, not all), sketch cards are underway, metal autograph card is here, so things are going swimmingly for that! Campaign in early September likely.

UFO series 2 – This project is about 1/3 complete already: half the sketch cards are here already, one metal autograph card is here (I cannot wait to reveal it!), but base cards are not yet done. Due for early 2025.

And there is other stuff happening that I SO. WANT. TO TALK. ABOUT!! But cannot until things are 150% sure. (so hard to keep quiet, so hard so hard)

Anyhoo happy hump day!! (Wednesday. The middle of the week.)

Star Wars Annual Painted Cover

It’s been a while since I painted Star Wars so I tried a composition of my own on a blank cover, and also tried to challenge myself NOT to use any while paint at all. Not one single drop. The closest I came is using Titanium Buff. Nearly a week for me to paint this!
